Turkana Container
£180
DESCRIPTION
This one of a kind container was made from acacia wood and cow hide, by the Turkana people of Kenya. To make the cow hide waterproof, the leather was treated with gum. With its round, flat base and narrow neck, the container was designed and originally used to store and pour liquids such as mead or milk.
The Turkana people have a beautiful artisanal touch to all of their pieces, blending delicate details with sturdy style.
