Pokot Spear No.4
DESCRIPTION
These spears are hand-sculpted by the Pokot people of Kenya and part of our special collection which took 8 years to curate. Spears serve several functions in African tribal life and well-forged spears are highly desirable. Spears are seen as an integral part of a young boys initiation and coming of age and power. For men they are viewed as an extension themselves as formidable warriors and hunters as well as symbols of their rank and status. They are also used in ceremonies and to safeguard and protect the community.
Our spears are vintage objects that have been gently restored to original authenticity, each spear will vary slightly due the natural nature of the product.
They work perfectly as a decorative piece anywhere in the home. Style solo or as a pair.
Please note that the blades still maintain some sharpness and we advise taking care when handling and styling in your home.
