DESCRIPTION
These sculptural chairs come from the Makonde people of Tanzania, who are known to be some of the leading carvers in Africa. Each chair is hand-carved from a single piece of wood with unique carving details. These elaborate chairs were traditionally commissioned and used by dignitaries or by the communities Chief to denote his status and power.
