Dan Mask No.10
Hand-carved from indigenous wood, Dan masks come from the Dan people of Liberia and the Ivory Coast. The Dan believe that there is a greater power called dü, which manifests as invisible spirits in the form of people and animals. Some dü spirits reply on masks as their physical being to communicate. This is a special Kaogle, Monkey mask which is traditionally worn to entertain crowds during ceremonial dances.
Masks make for beautiful sculptural decorative pieces anywhere in the home. Arrange individually or in sets for a statement styling.
