The Ashanti people of Ghana believe there are no secrets between a man and his stool. When it is not in use, the stood is rested against a wall at a slant to ensure that no other passing souls can rest on it. 

Each stool is hand-carved from a single piece of indigenous wood, with each central design of the stool carrying its own story. Ashanti stools are perfect as a low side table or as a sculptural decorative stool for anywhere in the home.
