warrior
Our Warrior cap is inspired by Maasai warriors who are now wildlife warriors. Big Life Foundation is rooted in community led conservation, employing hundreds of local Maasai as rangers. Their vision is to create a world where conservation supports the people, so the people support conservation as the well-being of both wildlife and people are deeply intertwined.
Watch how your support helps. Joshua Clay capturing the team. Top left is Constable Sabore Shakuya who he has a great eye with helping ID elephants who are breaking fences. Top right is Constable Daniel Kutata, who leads the team in IDing elephants fencer breakers, taking images and participating in nightly drives to push elephants away from farms. In the drivers seat, following in his fathers footsteps is Corporal Agostino Mutinda. He wears many hats, from ranger instructor to rhino patrols and a drone pilot, helping to prevent elephants from entering farms. Front and centre is Constable Mayiani Kool, he has taken the mantle as one of Big Life's best drivers, navigating tough terrain at considerable speed at all hours of the night to prevent elephants from entering farms.
These rangers play a key role at Big Life, on the frontline of conservation. Friends in the fight and great spirits who bring laughter and lightness to tiring and stressful situations.
