This currency is known as, lamp currency and originates from the Lobi people of Burkina Faso. These hand forged lamps demonstrate the functional use of currency. The shaped bowl was designed to hold the oil and the long stem would be pushed into the ground.

We love these for a unique tall styling feature for anywhere in the home. Style as a sculptural object.
