Baule Catapult | No.2 | Ivory Coast
Hand-carved from indigenous wood using wood skills passed down from generations by the Baule people of the Ivory Coast, this wood carving formed the handle of a catapult. Catapults were often used for hunting fruit bats, a Baule delicacy. Each handle would be intricately carved with unique designs as they are thought to hold talismanic powers and bring good luck.
Perfect for styling as a decorative piece for any space.
