Mancala Game Board
A traditional game board from the Dan people of the Ivory Coast. It is hand carved from acacia wood. The word mancala refers to a family of games, played on boards like these which have worn depressions which hold game pieces such as seeds, stones or beads. The object of the game is to capture more pieces than the opponent or to have one side empty first in order to win.
