Helmet Mask | No.6 | Mali
The Bozo people are located along the Niger River and known as the 'masters of the river'. They preserve a number of animist traditions and believe that objects, places and creatures all possess a distinct spiritual essence.
Helmet masks are hand-carved from ingenious wood and finished with brass details. Each mask represents a male or a female and would have traditionally been worn on the head during ceremonies.
Style as a decorative sculptural piece solo or in pairs, perfect for anywhere in the home.
