Zulu Pot | No.5 | South Africa
Zulu pots are delicate, handcrafted vessels have humble beginnings. Traditionally, used for a variety of tasks from cooking to storage, they are most known for their use of brewing sorghum beer. Today, we prize these beautiful vessels for our homes, using them as beautiful statement and functional pieces.
Each pot is handmade, using clay from river banks. The clay is hand coiled, before being smoothed down, burnished and fired in an open fire pit. Each pot, tells a story of their maker, with their heritage and cultures influencing their detailed designs that they carve to make each vessel entirely unique and special.
Minor markings and chips may occur with each vessel due to their handmade and vintage nature.
