Bone Beads White No.2

£100

DESCRIPTION
Bone beads symbolise Africa's cultural tradition of ensuring nothing goes to waste, ensuring a more sustainable way of living. All across Africa, carving beads from recycled cow bone is centuries old and the custom of making the beads still continues today. Traditionally the beads would have been used as a currency to trade for food and other goods.

The beads are hand-carved and shaped by skilled craftsmen from Kenya. Once shaped, the beads then go through a wax process to create the final design. Due to the natural nature of the beads, all beads will vary slightly and natural markings may occur.

The beads can be removed from the stand and work perfectly layered in a bowl, on coffee table books or style with the stand as a decorative piece anywhere in the home.
