Tonga Mortar Stool No.3

DESCRIPTION
Our Tonga mortar stools are special vintage pieces curated from rural communities from Zimbabwe. Each mortar has been used for pounding grain and maize in the communities kitchen, before being gently restored and repaired. 

Each stool is hand-carved by a community member from indigenous wood, with its own unique design and shape making them a one-of-a-kind piece for your home. As the mortars have been exposed to elements and been used daily, the wood shows beautiful signs of wear and patina. 

Our Tonga mortars are perfect as functional side tables or decorative sculptural stools for anywhere in the home.
