Grebo Many Eyed Mask
DESCRIPTION
Grebo masks come from the Grebo Kru people of the Ivory Coast and are hand-carved from indigenous wood. The masks are known for their circular projections which represent many sets of eyes and were worn during ceremonies related to warfare.
Picasso was known to be an avid collector of Grebo Kru masks and was said to have gained inspiration from them. Style as a decorative structural piece anywhere in the home.
