DESCRIPTION
We love the earthy hues and unique design detail of this vintage piece. Each basket is hand-woven from boiled roots of the Makenge bush and naturally coloured with plant dyes. 

Traditionally, these baskets are given as wedding presents to new brides, to use in outdoor kitchens. They are extremely hard wearing as the roots from the Makenge bush allow for higher coils to be woven. Due to their longevity, the baskets are often passed down generations with other baskets taking on rich patina and textures from years of use. Each basket conveys messages of beauty, marriage and family.
